I used Illustrator to create shapes and then to write text over the top (text from the original magazine). I had to copy the same font and style that was used from the original, i did this by changing the font, until it was right.
I know that next time when i copy the layout of a magazine to do the background first. I made sure that all the colours were about the same, or as close at it would get.
Formal elements used:
Shape- By creating boxes
Colour- By making my shapes full of colour ad my text
Composition- By making a neat layout and placing items in a certain way
